WALK AT WALLINGTON - Wednesday 10th April 2019 - by car
Meet at 11.00 a.m. under the clock at National Trust Wallington for an easy two mile walk, which should take around one to one and a quarter hours.
We will head eastwards through woodland to the walled garden and then on towards the river Wansbeck. After crossing the river, probably by the bridge, although stepping stones are available, we will follow the riverbank to the West Wood and then back to the visitors centre and house.
The route is detailed on the Wallington website (click here).
The house is open for visits from 12 noon, and the cafe is open from 10.30 a.m. for those who would like a coffee/tea before we start and for lunches/sandwiches and drink after the walk.
The journey by car from Durham should take no longer than one hour, and lifts should be available for those needing transport.
Cost: £2.00, but any accompanying persons who are not National Trust members will need to pay the entry fee.
Organiser: Michael Crampton
