Morning - Georgian Theatre Tour
The Georgian Theatre Royal is Britain's most complete Georgian playhouse. Built by the actor-manager Samuel Butler in 1788, the theatre was in regular use until 1830. It is Grade 1 Listed, being of special architectural or historical interest and possesses Britain's oldest set of scenery, known as 'The Woodland Scene'. Meet at 11.00am for an hour long guided tour that will draw you into a world of greasepaint, props, scenery and showbiz, giving a unique insight into the past and revealing the secrets the theatre has to offer. You'll get to see behind the scenes, stand on the stage, explore the pit, examine the scenery and enjoy the view from an exclusive box as well as the top tier cheap seats.

Lunch
Light Lunch at The Station. This will be a flexible affair with members choosing and purchasing their own food. If you are interested in lunch, we will walk down to The Station from outside the Georgian Theatre entrance at around 12.15pm. If you want to just come on the walk and would prefer to meet at The Station, we should be there by 12.30pm.

Afternoon - Circular Walk: Easby Abbey and Richmond Drummer Boy
The circular walk will start from The Station in Richmond at 1.30pm and follow the banks of the River Swale to Easby Abbey and the parish church of St Agatha, which retains preserved medieval wall paintings. The disused Darlington to Richmond railway line is then followed back to town, which affords wonderful views of the castle perched up high. The walk is approximately 3 miles and is mostly flat.
