Christmas Break - 2013

It was on a chill November morning that our coach set off from County Durham with 27 "oldies" all set for a little yuletide cheer.
We enjoyed our pre-ordered super brunch near Newark and then proceeded to Rockingham Castle. There we enjoyed an excellent Victorian tour which ended with wondrous mince pies. We re-joined our coach and proceeded to our hotel - our base for the two nights of this Christmas break.

The highlight of the holiday was the afternoon visit to Thursford for an extravaganza - high kicking girls, fantastic musical playing and singing, a mesmerising prestidigitator and other wonderful entertainment. Food and drink again - the interval found us all with mulled wine and mince pies. Did we hear any singing from the audience?
We returned home via Burghley and Doddington Hall where we experienced ghostly tales and time for Christmas shopping.
Somehow Santa knew all about us and managed to find the coach as we travelled home.
We had all enjoyed a lovely start to the Festive Season.
